Twitter Update:
Google happens to be Apple's largest corporate Mac customer. Pleasant surprise; I had no idea! — about 4 hours ago.
I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Virginia Tech exploring Personal Information Management across Multiple Devices with my advisor, Dr. Manuel Pérez-Quiñones. The work performed so far is available from my publications page.
I'm currently working on a book on User Interface Software with my advisor, Dr. Pérez, and my colleague and friend, Pardha. It is being published by Taylor and Francis Group / CRC Press, and we expect it to be available in bookstores January 2009.
During Summer 2007, I interned at Google Research under the mentorship of Dr. Bill Schilit. I worked with the Google Book Search team to develop a feature to let users clip content from books, and add it to their personal information archives or post them to a blog. I have interned at Google twice previously, with the Google Desktop team in 2005 and on an as-yet-confidential project in 2006.
Before Virginia Tech, I worked at Bluewave Computing's Consulting Division, right after graduating from GeorgiaTech with a Masters Degree in Computer Science in 2003. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Fr. Conceição Rodrigues College of Engineering, Mumbai (formerly Bombay) University in 2001.
In my free time, I love to travel, embark on photographic expeditions, and occasionally, write code to solve some of my pet peeves. I play the synthesizer and was part of a band, Avataar, at Virginia Tech. Seeing how many of my friends were sharing recipes over email, I started a recipe wiki, Chimbori.com, that now has over 150 cooking enthusiasts participating.
